In total, between seasonal and permanent, there are 345,000 foreign workers employed in agriculture, for a total of 29,437,000 days of employment.

The quota of 100 non-seasonal workers of Italian origin from Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela and Brazil is also confirmed, in addition to 4,750 conversions of permits for seasonal work in residence permits for subordinate work that will allow many farms to stabilize the relationship with their own foreign employees entered in these years with seasonal flows. On the basis of the latest Consolidation Act on Immigration, the requirements for requesting the multi-year seasonal permit and the procedure for accepting the request for “silent assent” are also simplified, as it is sufficient that the alien has entered regularly with a residence permit seasonal at least once in the previous five years to get access to it.
